To create this magnificent holiday bauble, each glass bead is worked on by at least six pair of hands — first blown from a glass tube over a flame and then silver coated, dyed and cut. Only then can they be thread into the glittering Christmas ornament you see here. Since 1902, artisans in Poniklá, Czech Republic have been handcrafting exquisite glass bead ornaments, carrying forward a tradition more than a century old. Their unparalleled skill has earned this craft a place on UNESCO’s list of intangible cultural heritage, ensuring each piece shines with history and artistry.
